LEAP’s 4 Part Process

LEAP uses a 4 part process to achieve results. This method provides a step-by-step framework to define strategic objectives, explore development and restoration scenarios, implement a strategic restoration plan and monitor expected results.

Defining Objectives &
Assembling Data
  1. A map Identify areas of interest.
  2. A map Benchmark and analyze the area.
  3. A chart Determine growth and yield trajectories.
(e.g. Height, Carbon Sequestration, Density & Volume)
  4. People talking Integrate stakeholder engagement to establish goals, targets, and thresholds. (e.g. Caribou Habitat Restoration, Old Growth Forest Intactness)

Modeling
  1. A refresh arrow Model multiple development and restoration scenarios – identify optimal solutions.
  2. Three plans Select the tactical plan that best matches the determined goals, targets, and thresholds.
  3. Traffic light Refine the tactical plan to accommodate operational efficiencies.
    (e.g. Access Limitations, Crossing Locations)
  4. A checkmark Test that the refined tactical plan still achieves the desired outcomes.

Implementation
  1. A chart and a tree Perform a field verification to ensure the feasibility of the plan.
  2. Seal of approval Submit the plan to the government for regulatory approval.
  3. A worker and a document Implement the approved plan in the field.
